I recently discovered a hidden gem - a cozy little restaurant that has quickly become my go-to spot each week. Last time, I tried their club sandwich and it was hands down one of the best I've ever had. Today I decided to switch it up and go for the pancakes, and let me tell you - they did not disappoint! I can't believe this place only has a few stars! One day, my friends and I were strolling through Carmel by the Sea during our road trip from San Francisco to San Diego. The heavenly aroma coming from this restaurant caught our attention, and we couldn't resist following our noses. We had our furry companions with us, and to our delight, the owner personally welcomed us and even treated our dogs (after asking for permission, of course). As soon as we sat down, we were greeted with freshly baked bread and a sun-dried tomato dip that was simply divine! The bread had the perfect balance of a crispy crust and a soft, warm interior - just the way I like it. We ordered the grilled artichoke and salmon, both of which were incredibly fresh, flavorful, and expertly seasoned. To our surprise, our server also brought us complimentary sides of potatoes and garlic bread! To cap off our meal, we indulged in the panna cotta with blackberry sauce and sipped on cappuccinos made with illy coffee. For coffee aficionados like me, the use of illy coffee is a telltale sign of excellence. The dessert was light and satisfying, and the caffeine boost from the cappuccino was just what we needed before hitting the road again. The entire staff was not only kind and attentive but also exuded warmth and hospitality. It was evident that they were genuinely happy and well-managed. Overall, the service was exceptional! The highlight of our meal was definitely the mouth-watering hamburgers. Each thick patty was clearly made with high-quality ingredients, making for a truly satisfying dining experience. Despite our slight hiccup of waiting approximately 30 minutes for our food to arrive, we were eventually able to dig into our delicious burgers served with a delightful side of spring mix. The patio had a vibrant and lively atmosphere, with secondary staff members seamlessly refilling our drinks and clearing our plates. Our only minor issue was that our server seemed to be a bit absent at times, but we can only assume that he may have been new to the job. Overall, our experience at this restaurant was a positive one, and we are already looking forward to returning in the near future.
